:( U are living my life (but 40 years later). My stutter started in 3rd grade. Became so bad that i would not even be able to say "hello" when i answered the phone - and would not even try. Trying to speak to people as the words got stuck in my throat (i likened it to someone shoving a sock in my mouth). The contortions of my face would make while trying to force out a word... the looks people would give me (my sense of them holding back their laughter). Trying to find the courage to ask that first girl to the 8th grade dance... the list goes on... and on... When i was about 20 (your age) got a job as a security guard - one part of the job (which i didn't know when i applied) was... TOO ANSWER THE GOD DAMNED PHONE! :( i don't have any grant advice for u... but i know (on such a deep level!!) your pain. :( My stutter slowly went (mostly) away - though it still lingers to this day... the stumbling....the blocks. Now, this next part is still something i cannot really phantom myself, and if i told my 20 yr old self... I went on to get my AS degree... BS degree... MS degree... and PhD degree... Am now a college prof, give lectures to audiences of all sizes... i stumble, i stutter, i have blocks (and simply change the word i planned to use to find another), but, i just move on. I know who i am I know i have worth I know i have something to offer to others. Oh, and just found out in 2/2024, at the age of 58m that... I have ADHD and Dyslexia :( We all have burdens Just live the life you want! OWN IT... THIS WORLD IS YOUR STAGE! AND YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO OFFER TO OTHERS! Good Luck (hang in there!)
