I work in nuclear medicine (a branch of radiology) and after 20 years make $53/hr ($110k/yr). If you’ve ever heard of a stress test, bone scan, or a PET scan… that’s us. I have to communicate with patients, physicians, and fellow staff members throughout the day. My speech was much worse when I started (I still have days), but I have pretty much honed my “scripts” to the point where I avoid sounds that usually cause problems. Also, after 20 years I’m pretty much on autopilot when saying them. You can make a good living with a stutter. The 20 year-old me wouldn’t have believed it, but I’m proof. Anyone reading this… don’t give up! God has a place for you in the world!
