So I’m 29 and I’ve had probably 12 jobs. Just actually started my recent and most high paying about a week ago. I’ve been working since 15 and I can tell you I stutter in all of my job interviews. This most recent one I stuttered during the phone interview and in the final face to face panel interview..yet I still got the job. The thing is…and I know this isn’t an immediate cure to your anxiety about this…but we all have flaws. And we’re not obligated to give people a forewarning about our flaws. We stutter. We can work on it. Get therapy. But ultimately it’s a part of who we are. Ofcourse it’ll be embarrassing in that moment..but the more of those moments you have it’ll become less and less embarrassing. What we can’t do is let it stop us from reaching our full potential. We have to fear THAT more..than we fear the very temporary embarrassment from the stutter. We have to fear THAT more than we fear other’s people’s perception of us.
