I’ve been married to my wife for over ten years and we dated for 5 before that and she never knew I had a stutter until I brought it up in therapy. She didn’t believe me at first and thought I was using it as some sort of excuse. It’s always there though, I guess I’m just fortunate enough that it is mild enough I can control it well enough that few people know I have it. I’m pretty sure most people that can control it don’t advertise it.
