Be involved. Get into sports, clubs, etc, You'll meet a ton of new people, discover or build new talents, keep fit physically and mentally, and be able to showcase your talents. It's great on a resume too since you are probably going to work summers now. I am not American, and I don't understand why or how parents let their teens while away their lives infront of computer games. I mean, my neighbors son plays all day and then his parents wonder why he is so insane and immature. Do not fall into that trap. It will steal your life for real! Caveat: I play video games as well, but only for 2-3 hours at a time on weekends, after my homework is done and my house is pristine.
