Yes, stuttering is horrible. We all know how it feels when we see other people take for granted what we have to struggle for. But that actually applies to all people, not only stutterers. You must have something that other people wish they had. And not just something as in money or a privileged upbringing. Maybe you're smart, maybe you're a good cook, maybe you're good at whatever it is you do. Focus on those things instead. The more you focus on the things you want to matter in life, the less you'll think about your stutter. Yes, you will have bad days, either when your stutter is really bad or when you meet some assholes who make a big deal out of it. That's okay. Feel free to feel sad or angry or humiliated or whatever. Guess what, that's a part of life too. And everyone has bad days, not just stutterers. As long as you get up the next day, well, life goes on, and so must you. I know this might seem like some cliche motivational bullshit to you, but some things are cliche for a reason: they actually work. Get yourself out there, do what you want to do, either you succeed or you fail and embarass yourself and you feel like shit. Yes, that will happen. But keep going. If you need to, vent to a friend. Or ask for advice from someone. Or do whatever it takes to make that shitty feeling feel less shitty. As long as you keep going, you'll make progress. Sorry for the long post, I'm just trying to spread the mindset that has really helped me these last few months and I hope it will help you too. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk btw.
