I barely remember an incident in 3rd grade when I accidently cut my finger because I was struggling with a word..I was putting so much pressure on my finger trying to get out a word I cut it....but I mite see how biting one's tounge could be a discomforting way to force out a word.....I use to forcibly"claw" at my leg when I was real real young....
