I just finished my first year of college, and my major is Speech-Language Pathology. Honestly, the only problems I’ve had with my stutter during college is when I’ve had to go up in front of the class and present anything, but I think that’s just school in general. I’ve kinda told myself I need to tell my professors that I have a speech impediment. I chose speech pathology because I’ve stuttered all of my life, and I’ve never known anyone whose had a speech problem like mine. I’m the only person in my family who stutters too. So, in my mind, I’ve practically been alone throughout my stuttering journey, even though I’ve had tons of constant support from my family and friends. And because of that, I want to help kids who stutter. I want to show them that they aren’t alone, you know? I also want to show them that if I can do it, then they can as well. This is probably really cheesy and sappy lol.
