The issue is for some of us who block and have difficulty getting words out. Regular stuttering where you prolong or repeat sounds isn't as severe because even if people think it's weird they still understand what you're trying to say,. Whereas with a block you cannot just power through it. It's the difference between whether one can hold a conversation or not.
