I can relate, I stuck with fast food places cause they place you in the back and your not directly dealing with ppl. I became awkward and kinda kept to myself cause it's so hard to say anything or contribute to a conversation. I always feel like when I do say anything it's just not taken seriously, or just not really heard. I have a small friend group, ppl who know and understand me, I still struggle trying to be more social tho, I wanna say more and joke around more, I never really get the chance cause that voice in the back of my head reminds me of the stutter. Like those moments where your just having fun and you forget that you even stutter but when your about to say something you stop and go "ah nvm" Phone calls make me nervous, I got hung up on alot cause it's hard to say Hello or Hi cause the H sound don't come out right and it gets blocked. Idk what it is, but over the years ( I'm 31) I've just worked on being more confident. I've been looked at like I'm dumb and stupid or just uneducated. Had a job working as a cook and I tried to ask the manager if I could leave early to pick up my son and when she turned around I froze and couldn't say anything, my mouth just hung there as I choked out the words and she made a face and said " your scaring me, are you okay?" 😂 I have a girlfriend and she's amazing, going on 9 years and she's the only person I can talk too with little to no stuttering, idk what it is but I call it a blessing I havnt really been able to talk about my experiences with stuttering or vent about how much it sucks sometimes, I don't bring it up with my girlfriend cause I don't wanna seem like I'm just holding onto it, but most days it just brings me down and I have no one to really talk about it with.
