This was me all through school (grades 1 through 12). I was isolated from everyone and told I was stupid, slow, and had mental retardation. You are not alone. I don't want to say the cliche that "it gets better" but everyone has that light inside of them; the light of confidence, strength, and resiliency. My stutter began as a result of a traumatic dog attack at the age of 5. I've had 20 years of speech therapy, some hypnosis, and some voodoo. I want for you to know that we have such strength within us, we have no idea. People have no idea what we go through on a daily, hourly, or minute by minute basis. Reach out to a support group or Google search "People who stutter" and you can find a lot of people on social media who can help with techniques, etc. to help you along your journey. I am now 50, I have a master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, happily married for 26 years, one son (teenager), and life has never been better. Seek out other PWS, support groups or organizations. Good luck!
