Hey Austin! Congrats on your graduation! So tips for your first job...are you nervous about the interview? From a stuttering perspective, I would say do something that I failed to do, tell the interviewer that you have a speech disfluency right from the start. It will put you at ease and allow you to focus on the interview itself, rather than managing your stutter. As far as finance goes, without knowing your exact area (trader, back office, ops, etc) it’s hard to give exact tips, but I would read up on the company, know their history and even prepare some questions. The interviewer will usually close the process by asking if you have any questions you want to ask them, definitely have some ready to go. This advice is more appropriate for once you have landed the job, but in my career I have always said “yes”. If your boss asks if you can do something just say “yes”. Even if you aren’t sure if you can manage it, or if it seems daunting or challenging step up and take it on. Even if you fail, your manager will respect you for having the guts to try. Lastly, before asking your manager for help with something make every effort to solve the problem yourself, and when you approach him/her have the steps you took outlined to show that you exhausted every option before coming to them for help. Best of luck to you!
