Should we be treating anxiety or our stutter?

Should we be treating anxiety or our stutter? I was thinking about this yesterday. Should we really be treating our stutter if we can speak perfectly fine when we’re alone. Surely we should be treating the anxiety around it since this is what’s triggering us. Mine has been getting worse and worse and I’ve clocked on that it’s because I’m so self conscious of it. I just don’t bother talking half the time. My dad wants me to try out the mcquire programme. It’s £1200 but I honestly feel like I’d rather spend that money on therapy or ways to booth my confidence. What’s everyone’s thoughts on this? Do you find the anxiety being worse than the actual stutter?
