Thanks for sharing. It sounds like our stuttering is pretty similar. Generally mild but the flare ups can be bad. I know when I’m nervous or on the spot mine gets worse. I’m sick of settling for coping mechanisms. I want to figure this shit out. I find it’s not bad at all when I’m really focused on other things or into something - I can give a motivational speech to my hockey team when I’m pumped up and not worried about how I’m speaking and not stutter once. Then after the game I’ll be at a gas station buying Powerade and I can barely talk to the cashier. Yeah I feel you. I often have really good things to say but I’m too slow getting to them. I also have a hard time having to recite things or read aloud word for word. If I can paraphrase I do way better. Whenever I have to present anything I make sure I know what I’m talking about so I can wing it and not need a script. It’s suck a stupid thing to have to deal with that makes life harder than it has to be.
