Yes, it was l long time ago, before social acceptance of non-conformity. I'm a female who had a mild-moderate stutter, It was in the 1970s before inclusion. Almost everyone else in my dorm was invited into a sorority except me. I always believed it was because of my dysfluency. However, I did show them all up! I was the only girl to have been dating a military officer.( my town had two things, my university and a Naval Air station). When I had to sign out with who I was with, I got to put Lt._______. All the other group were signing out with enlistees. This great guy married me, stutter and all, and we were married for 53 years. BTW. I recovered from stuttering through psychotherapy dealing with an abusive childhood at the age of 70! Sue
