Hey so this may sound really stupid but i have the same problem since like the age of four, i think? as i’ve read in your other posts about “knowing when you’re going to stutter” is a huge part which i relate on and i wanted to give you my piece of advice. i know many people say “just ignore what other people think and accept yourself” and i personally think its useless since there will always be a voice in the back of my head reminding me of the things that has been causing insecurities since before i knew what they were. back to the point, about my little piece of advice is that, just don’t think about your stutter. even if its sounds weird and stupid, try to shut it down, and that has helped in certain situations, i may be talking fluently with my friends and then that little voice in the back of my head is like “hey you have a stutter remember?” and start stuttering like a madwoman. also, some tips and tricks i swear by are: pretend that you’re yawning or smth, since commonly people don’t see it as weird if you stutter while yawning. other thing is when you know that you’re going to block on the next word, pretend as if you forgot the word, that always works for me. and for the last one, you could whisper, it’s quite rare that i stutter whenever i whisper, and idk that might help. anyway, thank you for every single post that you’ve made, it made me feel less alone in a way when i know that people are going through the same struggles as i do.
