It’s entirely possible. I’m not a speech therapist but I did take a class on communication disorders in college for fun and to learn about my own stutter. I want to say it’s like... Aphasia? Regardless a temporary communication disorder as the result of physical, mental or emotional trauma or abuse is totally possible.
