I've been with my wife a very long time. The first thing I ever said to her was "Hello." I never spoke to girls when I was young; between concern over stuttering, not being as big as others dudes my age and the fact that it was a female, I was up the creek without a paddle. So I feel ya. If I can suggest anything it would be to just say hello. Maybe don't start chatting with the ladies with intent beyond chatting. That may help build confidence talking to them, then you can work on finding a date/gf/etc. Good luck. And for what it's worth, it's difficult for the vast majority.
