Hi Static, I’d like to start by saying almost everyone in this subreddit experienced the same bullying and shame that you’ve experienced from stuttering. The differential factor is mindset. Choose something else aside from viewing yourself as a mistake. I don’t feel like you’re a mistake and I definitely don’t feel like I’m a mistake. My stutter has humbled me throughout life and ironically enough it only started getting better, AFTER I accepted it is a part of myself. At some point you may realize that no matter what your stutter might be there. So you can either live with it in stride or have a negative mindset that makes your experience worse. It’s hard to stay positive I know but remember your stutter in no way defines you. People bullying doesn’t define you. It’s how you stay positive despite the challenge that determines who you are as a person.
