Got an overall 8 in IELTS a couple of years ago with 7 in speaking. I was nervously confident going in but stuff went south pretty quickly. The examiner asked if I was anxious and I stated I’m a stutterer. They were very nice about it and didn’t interrupt or attempt to complete my sentences. I think my content and train of thought was solid. Did I get preferential treatment? I’d like to think not but I probably did— they seemed to empathise with me. I took it gratefully for the years of shit I had to endure
