Talking is highly emotional and instinctive. It's like a direct gate to your thoughts and feelings. A knee-jerk reaction. That's why when most people are talking to each other, they're not even thinking beforehand. They are thinking in real time and the speech is flowing out automatically. The brain is working in sync with all the muscles associated with speech. So I think when most people are talking spontaneously, they're not even in control of themselves (consciously). Wow, I think this is true of many people, or rather many silly people who just talk for the sake of talking. I know many people like this. They say many words but yet say nothing. Most people who have even a modicum of self knowledge take the time to listen to their inner monologue and parse their thoughts. I don’t think sensible people just say whatever pops into their mind. Sensible people seem smart because they take their time, and really think of what they are going to say. It’s not oratory, it’s thinking and talking sense. Come to think of it, they may appear to have some pauses and stutters but believe you me, they are in perfect control of how they portray their thoughts. I would hate to just talk without thinking, I don’t think any one with any sense operates like this.
