Choice is definitely not simple. When I say choice, I don't mean instantaneously flipping a switch, but a compounding effect. I'll take dating as an example. You see a pretty girl you want to approach. You desire to talk to her on one hand, but you have approach anxiety as a counteracting force. If you approach her, you will face less resistance to approaching women in the future. If you don't, your approach anxiety will increase and you will face more resistance approaching women in the future. It's like a muscle you exercise. Bitterness is the easy choice but it doesn't mean miserable people are lazy, of course. That's a circular reasoning fallacy. There are a multitude of reasons as to why someone is miserable. It's not that I mind the downer posts. I've been and often am the same. It's letting their life entropy with only this obstacle that gets me. I might just mind it after all, because it returns me to the emotions of the helpless child I was. I'll grant you that this is also a support group. Moral or emotional support never helped me much as I struggle with vulnerability. It might help others though. We're all a mess, and I can say I respect those who are trying to be less of a mess instead of helplessly submitting. Idk man.
