I had a stutter/stammer from the age of 7 till about 11 years old. I'm now 27. When I was around 7 years old, I developed a stutter. I would talk properly but halfway through a sentence. I'd either stutter the first letter of the next word or pause and roll my eyes cause I was frustrated that i couldn't say the next word. I don't stutter anymore. Haven't done for almost 20 years, however. Every now and then, if I'm telling a story or whatever, the pause and eye rolling come back, not often, though. My school provided a speech therapist for me and another girl my age who, to this day, still stutters, as far as I'm aware. I developed a bad habit, which in turn helped me overcome my stuttering. That was from spitting often between words. As a kid, I was outside playing, not liking I was spitting in school or at home. But I developed a habit of spitting constantly between words. Yes, it sounds horrible, and it is, but the speech impediment went away. I never spat indoors. Only outside. And to this day, I spit walking down the street, and I know how disgusting it is. But I'm only posting here to share my story. Feel free to ask me anything. I had a hard time growing up, but now I feel I'm very good with my grammar and punctuation because the stutter would give me more time to think about what I wanted to say. And you can't stutter on a keyboard 😂😂 thanks for reading if you did. Feel free to ask anything. Any criticism is good criticism. How old are you? When did it develop? Have you overcome it? Let's talk about it. We're all on this forum to help.
