I do hear it all the time, but we all have to remember that 99 times out of 100, these people don't have our speech impediment. They have no idea what it is like, since they only see it from the outside. I'm sure they mean well and are trying to help. They just cannot physically understand what it's like since they don't javelin experience with it.
