Getting diagnosed with ADHD after 23 years not knowing why I struggled so much with focusing, and getting a ritalin prescription. The medication actually helps a lot with my speech. My best guess is that since both ADHD and stuttering involves dopaminergic pathways through the basal ganglia, there is potentially some kind of interaction there, but it's not something I've looked into that much and I certainly would not recommend anyone try a medication without talking to their doctor first. I also just recently got surgery on my tongue tie as well and that's help as well. Previously my tongue tie was so restrictive that I could barely stick my tongue out of my mouth, and somehow not a single dentist or speech therapist ever mentioned this to me until a new dentist did last month, and it's helped a bunch too. Just reducing jaw pain and tension has been really nice, not just for stuttering but overall quality of life. I'd definitely recommend people talk to their doctor/dentist about checking out a potential tongue tie because it's apparently very common in people with many different speech disorders
