worst for me was in my school years. i would be so afraid of stuttering i would not speak in class and when i had to it was a disaster with everyone laughing at me. around high school time i couldn’t talk to anyone, including my friends, without stuttering every other minute. thankfully i had a job as a caddy, so i didn’t need to talk much at work. it flared up really bad again in my twenties, but for the most part ive been under control since then.
