Tom, about a year ago, I was in a group-style hospital recovery room and my nurse had forgotten to give me the call button. So, after I woke up, I lay behind the curtain for god knows how long, unable to call out because of blocking. She eventually came in and I when I later called my parents to update them, I said “I can’t talk to my nurse”. She must have overheard and thought i was saying she was inattentive (it was during a Covid surge and she was overworked!) bc she became very cold to me for next 6 hours. I cried about hurting her feelings, and being unable to correct the misunderstanding. So I get it. I then spent my time off of work looking for a way to gain fluency. And I found it [in the free podcasts here](https://www.stuttering-specialist.com/stuttering-therapy-atlanta)! It involves hard work of doing some scary things- mostly the opposite of what you are doing naturally
