I have nowhere near narcissistic parents, but they definitely had certain parenting practices that weren’t the best for a kid that’s on its way of holding back: - “Let me do it.” - for something that I was 100% capable of - “Don’t say that, you might get him offended.” - for something pretty inoffensive - Lisping - even though I was a grown ass person And so on. I’m not mad at my parents, they certainly didn’t know for better as they were raised in a strict environment. It was through my growing and understanding of stuttering that I came to conclusion what serves me and what not. That process changed me as well as my parents.
