Yes really. On top of my stutter, I was incredibly shy around girls. Even if I was fluent, I probably wouldn't have had the nerve to ask a girl out in high school. If it wasn't for girls being attracted to me because of my stutter, I never would have dated. Looking back on those years, and then learning about the other girls who had crushes on me, I realize just how blind I was to what was going on around me. Of course, I had crushes on the popular girls and the flamboyantly attractive girls. But they distracted me from the many other really awesome girls who were hidden in the shadows of the popular girls. If I could go back in time, I would take a closer look at the girls in those shadows...
