Congrats on graduating! You cannot be fired for stuttering in the US. The ADA protects you against that. Regarding people's reaction to your stuttering, make sure you do your job well and your stuttering will get dismissed. If you don't regard it as a big deal your colleagues won't either. It will be reduced to "one of things that makes you interesting" I'm not a nurse, but I am an SLP that has worked in medical settings. I remember feeling similar pressures--what if the nurses / physicians / patients are freaked out by it. It's a feeling that fades. At least it did for me. At some point you will commit an error in care. Every healthcare professional will commit many errors in care over the course of their career. Most likely that error will result from a lack of thinking and not your speech.
