People who stutter are more intelligent?

People who stutter are more intelligent? Hi guys, I remember being told by a speech therapist that people who stutter tend to be more intelligent on average. Do you find that to be true or do you think it's more of a myth? P.S.: reading all of your stories made me feel so much less alone. thank you from the bottom of my heart
