When I was around 17/18 I was doing a retail job interview which entailed a 30 min trial on the shop floor. A fellow staff member approached me introduced themselves really politely and asked me for my name, I knew full well I wouldn’t be able to get out the first letter of my name “J” so just had to hold my chest and say “sorry I have a stutter” without even remotely stuttering that sentence, which I feel like made it more embarrassing
