As far as I'm aware it has been thought of that OCD, dystonia, tourettes and stuttering are potentially all related. But, I'd wager that this hypothesis might have come about because it is unclear what causes these disorders that all have unvoluntary, or involuntary behaviours that look quite similar. ​
