I have stuttered my entire life with varying degrees of "openness" for the first 28 years or so I never spoke about it or even acknowledged it really. So there was a huge wall built up. I started my journey to acceptance 10 years ago and I am still on that journey. You respecting her wishes is the right to do. During my "covert" times I really think all I would want to hear from my loved ones is "hey, I think that might have been tough. I am here to talk about it if you want." I had to be ready for that conversation. She might or might not be but you can assure her you are there for her and always ready to support her in whatever way she needs. It's a journey and it ain't easy. There are large communities of people who stutter that advocate openness and honesty about it. "coming out" as a person who stutters was exceptionally hard to do at the start but has been the best choice I ever made. Feel free to DM me if you want any resources about stuttering. There is a lot of terrible therapists out there selling snake oil cures. The stuttering community is full of amazing people. If she wants to learn about it please let me know. There are thousands of people with similar experiences listening and healing each other.
