I read the book (3rd, 2021 one) and the concept in a nutshell is; \- hear fluent speech. By reading aloud quite alot, hear yourself speak fluent \- use 'cruches' so you don't stutter ( this one is \- use affirmations to 'rewire' the brain. I think the the cruches are controversial in the stutter community. Use ways around words to not stutter (temporarily). It is difficult to use them in pressure situations. This are often the situations that you normally stutter. It is completely opposite to voluntarely stutter to reduce anxiety. Maybe in the end it works the same way, lessen anxiety. But the first and second bullet, more and more seeing yourself as a fluent speaker, building confidence that you can speak without stutters is maybe alreay half the solution. entering a speaking situation with the thought that you can speak instead of anxiety and visions/feelings of stuttering makes a difference. I haven't spend the amount of time and effort that is thought to be required to make it work. So can't conclude if it can make it work altogether. I found the book itself poorly written. Everything is repeated over and over and over again. the books are not re-written but added without auditing or reviewing. 1/10th of the book would give the same result. I think it can do no harm to try. Enrolling in the online-course is optional but not neseccerely required.
