I cringe when I hear that too… if anything, it’s a reminder that no one is 100% fluent. Usually, when someone says it, they’re just trying to save face quickly. It’s good they have a way to move past the awkward moment and keep speaking. Plus, they could be a covert stutterer or have another speech impediment.
