I have been in your position- at least similar one. Have you ever noticed that there are times when you speak fluently when you shouldn’t have and be surprised? For example, maybe asking a question fluently- you didn’t expect it to come out fluently, but it did. I have had such moments where there is a “great” environment for stutter to come and assist me 😄, but it doesn’t. That proves that we can speak fluently- without physical changes. Those physical advices like speaking slowly, they can sometimes help, but they are like a pill for a headache. It helps to reduce the problem but it is not the solution for the cause of the problem (possibly the cause is stiff neck). If we all could find the “mental reason” for our stutter, we could be free! At first I thought it was something about confidence, but there are examples that prove that it’s not the cause.. (at least for me)- but it seems logical to be the reason. It’s probably something very trivial and unlogical. So, I would suggest analysing both good and bad situations and try to find the difference- how you felt, what was the environment etc. possibly you will find the cause. Spoiler alert: I haven’t found my cause for the stutter 😄
