At a nondescript fast food joint when I was on a trip with my girlfriend and a few of my friends who all know I have a stutter, my girl places her order at the counter and I speak up with my order and start stuttering not able to get my order out, and the lady at the counter goes, “So, nothing for you then?” All malicious like, my friends were taken aback and my girl gets real upset and says, “How about give him a second and let him tell you what he wants.” I got my order out and everything when great the rest of the night, but the scene made at my expense made me feel bad all night. And of course the stories of waiters/waitresses just walking away with everyone else’s order mid stutter always sucks. Don’t even get me started on drive-thrus! Sorry got a little carried away XD
