Not a pilot but I do work at a major airport. I'm able to drive on the airfield but I have to get clearance from the tower and airport operations before doing so. At first I was nervous, thinking I was going to have a hard time with it. Cause you know, most of the airport is listening to the Ops channel. And then you have the many planes listening on the tower radio. And I'm thinking, ''oh great, everyone's gonna hear me." And I mean everyone. Few stumbles at first. Much better now. I'll stumble still here and there. More so if I have to repeat myself. And I agree, one of the worst parts is trying to get a word in with the tower cause it's so busy. And when that chance comes, I have to talk quickly. Which isn't always easy
