I don't see what's wrong with wanting to improve yourself. Speech is a learned skill. Everyone has some amount of disfluency. Actors take classes to improve their speaking. Stuttering isn't my identity. It's a challenge that I grew up with. One that I eventually overcame. Stuttering ad a young person was really hard. Traumatic at times. If a stutterer is comfortable with their stutter and has no desire to change, so be it. I respect them. On the other hand, if someone wants to achieve greater fluency, no one should tell them that they should seek acceptance over fluency. It's not my place to dismiss acceptance, nor yours to dismiss fluency. Nor would I ever dismiss acceptance. Fact is I made a post in this sub earlier today promoting positive self worth.
