One way to look at it I practiced law for 34 years, stuttering all the while, and whenever I encountered a colleague who held my stuttering against me, I often (although not always) could think: I may stutter, but you are an alcoholic; I may stutter, but you are a drug addict; I may stutter, but you are addicted to gambling; I may stutter, but you are hopelessly venal; I may stutter, but you are corrupt (and you and I know it); I may stutter, but you are cheerfully malevolent I may stutter, but you have a mean streak; I may stutter, but you cheat on your wife; Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera... So no need to feel bad about yourself.
