Embracing your Stutter at the Drive Thru: A Journey Wanted to share a little victory with you all that has made a big difference in my life. Ever since I was really young, speaking at the drive thru has been a nerve-wracking experience for me. Whether it's at McDonald's or any other place, the fear of stuttering and being judged by the employee always loomed over me. There were times when I'd just drive away hungry rather than face that anxiety. But one day, I decided enough was enough. Instead of letting my fear control me, I chose to embrace my stutter. I made a conscious effort to allow myself to stutter without feeling ashamed or embarrassed. I focused on sending out nothing but positive vibes, reminding myself that it's okay to be who I am. Even when the drive thru employee interrupted me and told me to speak clearly, I didn't let it get to me. I pushed through with confidence, reminding myself that we stutter with swag and smoothness, and that there's nothing to fear. I saw each interaction as a chance to practice acceptance and self-love. Over time, something amazing happened. I noticed that I rarely stutter at drive thrus anymore. By facing my fear head-on and embracing my stutter, I've reclaimed control over a situation that used to cause me so much anxiety. So to anyone out there struggling with their stutter, I want to remind you that you are not alone. Embrace who you are, stutter and all, and know that you are worthy of love and acceptance just the way you are. Keep shining, friends. Much love to you all. - guy on the internet TL;DR: Used to dread speaking at the drive thru due to my stutter. Decided to embrace it instead of letting fear control me. Now, rarely stutter at drive thrus.
