I'd agree here. For me it's all about reducing avoidance behavior. I stutter more when I am holding back and "trying not to stutter." By attacking my feared speaking situations methodically, day after day, I've found I no longer avoid and speak more fluently. I think there is a stage we go through where we have to openly stutter more before we get over it and it doesn't rule our thoughts so much. It took me years to get here, but anyone can do it at anytime. Anxiety doesn't have to be a part of stuttering.
