Children often blame their parents. As we mature, we find ourselves playing the blame game less and less. Blaming their parents is likely what is stopping them from moving forward. Likely why their therapy isn't helping. It's so terribly common for stutterers to blame their life on their stutter. It's a bigger problem than the actual stutter. See it here constantly. The stutter and the depression get conflated. Feelings like your life is over is depression, it's not stuttering. Blaming others is a sign of emotional issues, including depression.
