Quick update after that big weekend (this past weekend).. Met up with someone that my speech has been awful all the time and met up with 3 new people I hadn't met.. The only time I stuttered was Sat morning at breakfast when I hadn't taken the celexa yet. Otherwise, it was pretty freaking great. I saw the doc today, I wanted to either increase the dosage of Celexa from 20 mg to 30 or 40 MG, and/or make xanax 1 mg once or twice a day, a daily thing for 20 weeks. Since I've had the most success by far on Celexa, we agreed to going from 20mg a day to 40mg. We'll assess the situation in 2-3 weeks whether to add Xanax, go back to 20mg of celexa etc. But as I've stated.. throughout the 30+ years I've dealt with the issue, I think there's probably two main reasons why someone stutters. Too much dopamine, which I tried a dopamine blocker 2-3 months ago and it made it far worse.. So I X'd that out and went back to what I've thought for many years, it's a nervous system/anxiety issue. I did okay on drugs like Xanax, or b1, but say b1, there wasn't a significant difference that ended up lasting. so I've kinda thought I've needed a couple different things. This Friday it'll be 6 weeks, it passed the biggest test I've had by far and I'd say it's very promising for the long-run. I'll update this in a week, or 2 or 3 or keep on answering any questions.. but it'll be interesting to go from 20 mg to 40 mg of Celexa starting tomorrow.
