Sorry; soap box speech here. Please don't cancel as a result of the stutter. It may ease the anxiety in the short-term, but you may have regrets. Think of how this job will set you up on your resume - your future self will be very thankful. We've all had these moments of self-doubt, but you should know that you likely have this entire community of subscribers cheering you on. Worst case, you bomb the interview and don't get the job. You'll have that experience in your pocket to build off of for the next interviews. You'll still walk away with something positive. If you cancel, you're no better off. Personally, my stutter has embarrassed me more times that I can remember, but I used to take a personal pride in soldiering on and still going to interviews, making phone calls, and speaking up. I have rarely regretted choosing to speak and stuttering versus remaining silent. Once I took on this mindset, my stutter improved so that now I barely recognize that I stutter (improvements happened late 20's). I've had interviews where I've told the interviewers that I obviously stutter, but it flairs up more in stressful situations like interviews and I'm still able to communicate effectively through other channels even if my speech just doesn't cooperate one day. They seem to like this response. One guy once flat-out asked me a lot about my stutter and my experiences and later told me I was inspiring and how impressed he was that I was able to not let it slow me down. He offered me the job before I left the interview. We all have our issues that we have to face and yes, this one is uncomfortable. Please go through with the interview and report back to this community about how it went and how you feel about it afterwards - undoubtedly, you will inspire others to do the same and that's ultimately why we are all here. Best of luck! TL;DR Don't let your stutter get in your way!
