I’m a marine , 19 years. Enlisted in 2003 and now I’m a major. Infantry officer. Key in on what fluency techniques work for you. Mindfulness helps me quite a bit and rehearsing what you want to say. Boot camp is easy bc it’s all yelling. Don’t ever let people put you in a box for a stutter. The climate now is much more hospitable to service members with these types of issues. I wish I could say that my stutter is 0 impact on my career / mental health bc that would be a lie. I will say that I think I make way more of a bigger deal out of it than any of my superiors do or younger marines. People will always have dumb comments or try to put you down. It’s up to you to know you’re worth , work hard, and exceed minimum standards. If you can do this , you’ll be successful. DM me if you have any other questions.
