Do you tend to stutter more in a public space, than a private gathering?

Do you tend to stutter more in a public space, than a private gathering? Does it ever happen that the very first words that you start in a public space tend to get blocked/stuttered? I tend to have this a lot and it makes me bummed out to carry on the conversation further. It's like I tend to stutter more in public since there is a general sense of chaos, rather than in a private setting where things are apparently calmer.
