Hey good for you! I'm 31 years old, and I only actually started talking to people about my stutter 2 years ago. It DOES feel HUGELY liberating to get it off your chest. It really decreases tension and gives you the confidence to know that you can just be yourself, because 99.9% of people don't care about stuttering. Reality is that everyone has imperfections, and on top of that, nobody speaks perfectly. Stutterers often have a better vocabulary than people that don't stutter, have superior writing/reading/comprehension skills, are better conversationalists, etc. I think us stutterers are less likely to "talk over" or interrupt the other person in a conversation, and more likely to pay attention to the details of what they're saying. The confidence boost that you get from being courageous and baring it all like you did is so empowering and cathartic. Keep it up!
