I always sat at the corner of the table, so the waiter/waitress could stand next to me and I didn't have to speak to loud. That always gave me confidence. Somehow I can order food now, no matter where I sit at the table. I always keep the menu in my hand so I can read it if I feel like I'm going to stutter.
